Blue Beach is on the north west of
the Akrotiri peninsula of Crete, where the Mediterranean meets the
Ionian Sea. The scenery here is so spectacular that it was used as the
location for filming "Zorba the Greek". Today, it is still wonderfully
unspoiled; an area of natural beauty and tranquility, yet only nine
miles from Chania (pronounced, and sometimes spelt Hania) and the
beautiful old Venetian port. You can catch a bus into Chania or, if
you prefer, Manolis, your host, offers excellent rates for car hire,
so that you can explore the beauty of Crete yourself. |
